Beware of the Siren!

I have a quick post today. I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Mythology/Inspired by a Story Challenge. My card inspiration is the mythical Sirens that would lure the Sailors in with their beautiful voices. The pentalogy of Percy Jackson is what made me think of the sirens. I had this digital stamp "Princess of the Sea" by aurora Wings (on Etsy) for a while. I was so excited to have a reason to print it out and color it in.

I couldn't find a way to incorporate the sailor into the card then remembered I had these sailboat and anchor charms.

I did an ink resist by clear embossing the music background. I blended my distress ink over it and then removed the embossing powder with an iron and paper towel. I hope you like it! I will edit my post later to add my supplies.

Feeling Under the Weather

Hello! Today I made a card that has a Wobble from Art Impressions behind the cloud shaker for my niece. I really hope this will put a smile on her face.

The droplets are a little too thick in the shaker that they do not move easily but I kind of like that so they do not all end up on the bottom.

Supplies Used:
Mama Elephant: Cloud Nine Dies
Mama Elephant/ Simon Says Stamp: Rain or Shine Stamps and Dies
Amuse Studio: Silver Lining {Sentiment}
Taylored expressions: build a scene-swirly cloud dies
Art Impressions: Wobbles
Pretty Pink Posh: 4mm clear droplets
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide: Salty Ocean

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Happy Birthday

My card today is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. This challenge is to make a birthday card to celebrate their 9th year. Happy Birthday Simon Says Stamp! I used my oxide inks again but in a different way. I inked solid flower stamps from Simon Says Stamp 'Flowers on My Mind' with the oxide inks, stamped them on watercolor paper then sprayed the image to give it a blurred water color look. I hope you like it!

I hand cut the flowers and
popped up them up with foam tape for dimension.

I think that I am stuck on threes from Monday's trio of something Challenge

Supplies Used:
Simon Says Stamp: Flowers on My Mind {Flowers, Petals, and My Friend}
Penny Black: Smile Today! {Happy Birthday}
Distressed Oxide Ink Fossilized Amber
Distressed Oxide Ink Twisted Citron
Distressed Oxide Ink Seedless Preserves
VersaFine Onyx Black ink

SSS A Trio of Something

I had a lot of fun doing this challenge for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Trio of something! I have wanted to use this Tim Holtz Flutter set since I got it ( a while ago!) I liked how the card turned out and I cannot wait to mail it!

Love the colors of the Oxide Inks!
I blended Antique Linen, Seedless Preserves, and Wild Honey Oxide inks on cardstock, then stamped the butterflies with Archival Jet Black ink. Then I sprayed them with water, die cut and let them dry.

I stamped one of Tim Holtz Slight Alterations background stamps in white from Hero Arts on the card. I masked the white background and stamped the Penny Black Slapstick Brick Wall Stamp with Archival Jet Black over the masked images.

I die cut the flowers & leaves out of scraps and I stamped with a verse to add to the color. The flowers were cut out of Yellow that I blended Seedless Preserves Oxide ink on and sprayed with water. The dies used are retired MFT die-namics flower & leaves dies. The sentiment is from the Penny Black Smile Today set.

{Secret...I have had all four of these stamp sets for a while and this was the first time they touched ink!!!}
