Hello! Kimberly here to share with you a card I made using what I am going to call sloppy watercoloring. I am not a painter. I pretty much just get by when I watercolor my images. One day I will take a formal lesson, but for now, I am just going to have fun with it!

To start, I embossed this floral image from the Maker Forte Varada Sharma "Grateful To You" stamp set on a 3 1/2" x 6 1/2" piece of watercolor paper using Color Hive embossing ink and white embossing powder. Next, I smooshed Yellowstone color hive ink and Tiptree Jam color hive ink on my glass mat. Using a wet paintbrush, I picked up the Yellowstone ink and filled in the two main flowers.
Before the ink could dry, I picked up Tiptree Jam ink on my clean brush and just dotted the Tiptree Jam ink all over the yellow flowers. This is where sloppy came into play. No rhyme or reason, just spots...all over!
Next, I cleaned my brush and with clean water, I blended the colors together. I also added some Yellowstone ink in areas that I missed the first time.
To finish the image, I used Palm Tree color hive ink on the leaves, Acid Wash color hive ink for the berries and combined Purple Rain color Hive ink and Acid Rain color hive for the smaller flowers.
While I waited for the ink to dry, I stamped the image on a piece of Gina K. masking paper and fussy cut it out. It is important to cut extremely close to the lines of the image when you mask. It will affect the ink placement on your project if you leave too much white space around the image. Once the ink dried, I removed the back of the masking paper and lined it up over the painted image. Then, I blended Fog color hive ink over the Alex Syberia 3D background stencil and removed the mask.
To finish the card, I added the "Happy Birthday" sentiment to the card panel using Eclipse Black color hive ink. Then, stamped the "To my friend" sentiment on a strip of white cardstock. I layered it on a piece of eclipse black cardstock and popped it up on foam tape. Finally, I put foam tape on the whole white panel and adhered it to a card base of British Racing Green cardstock.
