I Sea it's your Birthday!! {Brutus Monroe Mermaid Kisses}

Hello and Happy Friday! I am so excited to share another card I made using the awesome Brutus Monroe Mermaid Kisses Inspiration Box. I just love everything in this box and have really enjoyed creating with it!

I started out ink blending Speckled Egg distress oxide over the whole white panel. Then, I ink blended Spun Sugar, Milled Lavender, and Speckled Egg distress oxide over the Brutus Monroe Sea Skin Stencil (that I purchased separate from the inspiration box).

I had different plans than the final outcome so I ended up covering this with an oval spotlight stencil to block off part of the center which you will see in the next picture. However, that is not necessary for the outcome of the card. I covered the whole stencil with glitter glaze for that shiny scale look and let it dry.

While I wanted for it to dry, I stamped and cut out the mermaid, a turtle, and a few other underwater elements and colored with Copics. Then,  I cut a card base and an oval frame out of a piece of Heather cardstock that was included in the inspiration box. I trimmed out two of the sentiments from the sentiment strips in the Inspiration Box and gathered everything to assemble the card.

I adhered the scale panel to the Heather card base with foam tape. Then I arranged all of the images on the scale panel and glued them down. I popped up the mermaid and the turtle with foam tape. I realized after I had glued everything down, the scales were upside down. (Yikes!) I think I wanted the blue on the bottom the whole time and my focus was on that and not the direction of the scales. To finish the card, I added the clear bubbles and some sequins from the Inspiration Box. I really love how this turned out even with a few minor whoopsies!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope I inspired you to create something today!
