Heartfelt Thanks!

Hello! Today I have a SUPER cute card using My Favorite Things Always Bring a Smile. I made this thank you card for the person that sent me this stamp set in some happy mail a little while ago. I absolutely love this set and had so much fun coloring this mushroom. I used a snow marker to make the poof spots on the mushroom. To make the frame look like wood I dry embossed a piece of Soft Suede cardstock with the Tim Holtz texture fades Lumber embossing folder. Then I put embossing ink all over and heat embossed it with weathered wood Distress Embossing Glaze. I popped the frame up with foam tape so the poof in the mushroom wouldn't get squished when I mail the card. After I colored the squirrel, I dabbed a rag with Copic colorless blender on him to give him the spots.  I hope the recipient loves the card as much as I loved my happy mail!!

Copics Used:
Mushroom: BV20, R14, R17, E40, E41, E43
Grass: YG17, YG21, YG23
Sky: BG0000
Squirrel: E34, E35  Face/belly: E30, E31, E33

Welcome to the Neighborhood!

How cute is this new neighbor card? I just love these fish from Taylored expressions!!! I wanted something a little different than the usual 'house' welcome card and this is what I came up with.

I stamped the snow globe on a piece of white card stock then cut out the center for the shaker part. I masked off the top then stenciled the sand with the "Go with the Flow" stencil, Antique Linen and Vintage Photo Oxides. Then I used a toothbrush with Vintage Photo and Ground Espresso oxide ink that I spritzed with water to splatter the ink to make it look like sand. Next I masked the sand and used Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean to stencil the water.  I stamped and die cut the fish and seaweed using the following sets from Taylored Expressions: "Under the Sea", "Oceans of Fun" and "Build a Scene Underwater" I colored them with Copics (listed below) and assembled the snow globe shaker. I finished it off with the sentiment from the "Simple Strips Background" set.

I hope you like it!

Copics used:
Blue fish:BG15, 18, 32
Orange fish: Y17, YR04, YR16

Change is Beautiful...litterally!

Hello crafty friends! Today's card features Change is Beautiful from Polka Dot Orchard. This was such a fun card to make. the first thing I would like to bring your attention to is the melted sequin on the card. I was curious to see what would happen to gold toned sequin if I put Antique Linen distress embossing glaze on them and heat them. Well... a melted sequin with a little texture from the embossing glaze. That worked perfect for this project as the regular gold sequin just wasn't what I was looking for.

So in this beautiful set from Polka Dot Orchard, there are two butterflies. I printed them in a set of 6 on vellum and printed one big butterfly on watercolor paper. I used a distress embossing pen with a brush tip to color in the parts of the butterfly that I wanted the cracked pistachio distress embossing glaze to adhere to. Then after I heat embossed it, I took the whole image of the butterfly that I cut out and smooshed it in an embossing pad. I added the Antique linen Embossing glaze over the whole thing and heat embossed it. I love the way it turned out. It made the cracked pistachio look a little antique as well.

For my final touch, I printed the sentiment on black cardstock, then added matte white foil over it and ran it through my laminator between two pieces of cardstock to have the foil adhere to the print on the cardstock. I cut the sentiment up in little strips and glued them to the card. The patterned paper that the vellum is on is from an old paper pack by Prima marketing. (Any old fashioned looking paper would do in it's place.)

Just look at how the melted sequin fit this card so perfectly! (Just a note- when I heated them, I held the center of the sequin down with a pointy tweezer to keep it from flying away.)

If you have any questions on how I made this, please feel free to ask.

Then I colored the unicorn with Copics and topped off her mane and horn with glitter. I just love the pastel overload! The Oxides used were: Squeezed Lemonade, Spun Sugar, Shaded Lilac, and Tumbled glass. Copics listed below.

Polka Dot Orchard still has 35% off all digital stamps! Now is a great time to pick up things on your wish list!

A Big Ton

Hello! Today I have a cute card using "A Big Ton" from Polka Dot Orchard. I love this elephant so much! I printed her out on "Faith & Hope" paper from Echo Park's Forward with Faith line. Then I colored her in with Copic markers. I blended some Antique Linen and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide on the white panel then stenciled Newton's Nook "Tropical Leaves" stencil with Peeled Paint and Twisted Citron oxide. I die cut some leaves from My Favorite things "Wild Greenery" Die-namics and tucked that under the elephant. **My favorite part** is that I took the sentiment and printed it on black paper then used white matte foil to make it look like it has an embossed look. (I love the look of white embossing on black cardstock)

I hope you like this elephant as much as I do. ALL of the digital stamps at Polka Dot Orchard are on sale for 35% off right now.

Summertime and Friends

Good morning! How cute is this fruit?!!!?!!! Polka Dot Orchard has a new release with so many new digital images. I used the  "Summertime and Friends" set for my patriotic card. I masked the jar and used Heffy Doodle's Starfall stencil for the background with Blueprint sketch Distress Oxide. I cut up the sentiment in smaller strips so I could place them along the side of the image without covering it up too much. Then I added a few sequin to finish it off.  Polka Dot Orchard has 35% off all of the digital images, so now would be a great time to stock up on your wishlist!!! Colors Listed below.

Copics used:

Strawberries: YR07, R14, R27, C3, G24, 28
Blueberries: B45, B97, 99

Rainbow Lobster...and sandy shaker!

Happy Thursday and welcome to day 4 of my beach themed week. If you have not had a chance, please take a look at my posts for Monday through Wednesday. I have posted a lot of inspiration using this exclusive Cape Cod set from Jenn Shurkus. She is doing a wonderful thing for small businesses in Cape Cod that are struggling due to the impact of Covid-19 by raising money with the sale of this set. For every set that sells between June 15th and July 1st, she is donating $10 of the purchase to the Cape Cod resilience fund. You can read all about it here: https://shurk.us/CCRF

Please share this with your crafty friends! It is a win win for everyone. You get an awesome stamp set, your friends will get beautiful crafty creations that you make them, and small businesses in Cape Cod will get some help they need.

I have a few more cards to share with you today. I had SO much fun making these cards!!! My first card is a fun Rainbow lobster card. I colored these fun Lobsters with R24, YR16, Y15, YG23, V06, and BG05. I used a My Favorite Things "cloud" stencil and Broken China oxide for the sky. Then I stenciled the Taylored Expressions "Here comes the sun" stencil with Mustard Seed Oxide. I added the lobsters and some die cut clouds. The sentiment is from Hello Bluebird "Rainbow Script" and I used Pink Fresh Studio "diagonal stitch rectangle" die for the white panel.

I LOVE to use sand in shaker cards. I don't have to pick out the different sequence and beads to make it look right. (I am a spaz with that) I really love the background with the street signs from the exclusive Cape Cod set by Jenn Shurkus. My frame panel is blended with: Candied Apple, Mustard Seed, and Mermaid Lagoon oxides. I colored the Adirondack chairs with V15, V17. I finished it off with a cute bird holding a banner. "we love this place" is from Massachusetts Collage by scraps of Love stamps.

As you can see from my blog the past four days, this set can be used for so many different cards! BUT wait... There is more!! Come back tomorrow for a couple more creations!

One in a Million!

Welcome to day 3 of my beach week! If you have not had a chance, please take a look at my posts for Monday and Tuesday.

How CUTE is this lobster card? I used the one large lobster in the Cape Cod set to make this card. I stamped out the bottom row. Then moved up to the next row and masked the two lobsters that needed to be covered when stamping the new row. Easy Peasy! I colored the lobsters using Candy Apple Red distress ink and a water brush. The blue lobster was done with Chipped Sapphire and Mermaid Lagoon distress ink. I colored in between the lobsters with Tumbled Glass distress ink. I printed the sentiment using the Friends Font.

I used the Lobster and lobster trap stamp for this tag. I thought it would be cute as a shaker so I added clear seed beads and topped it off with the ocean view porthole die-namics from My Favorite Things.

My last tag is made using the large lobster from the set and Tim Holtz Fired Brick Distress Embossing Glaze. I added a piece of fish net from my scrap man fishing net die.

I hope you enjoyed my beach inspired creations today. Please consider purchasing the Cape Cod Set. Do it for the lobsters... they are super cute!!!! (And to help out a really good cause!)

Feelin' Beachy!

Good morning and welcome to my second day of beach filled creations! If you did not get to read yesterday's post {which you should because I have some real fun cards posted} I am sharing cards this week that I made using the exclusive Cape Cod set from Jenn Shurkus. The following is some important information about a fund raiser that Jenn is doing and I would like to share it with you:

Jenn Shurkus lives on Cape Cod and is raising money for the Cape Cod Resilience Fund. This fund will help small businesses on Cape Cod who are experiencing financial difficulties due to Covid-19. YOU can help by purchasing one of Jenn's exclusive Cape Cod stamp sets. For each set sold between June 15th- July 1st, $10 will be donated to the CCRF. Another way you can help? Share this with your creative friends and help spread the word! More details can be found on Jenn's site here: https://shurk.us/CCRF

This first card is a slimline card that I used the umbrella from the Cape Cod set, and Trinity stamp's Scalloped card panels and banners die. I colored the Umbrellas with BG10 & 11, YG01 & 03, R20 & 22, and Y13 & 15. To finish it off, I added a couple of sentiments.

My next card uses the lobsters from the Cape Cod set and is a simple "Love" card. I used pattern play by Ellen Hutson to add the "x" background over masked Lobsters. then removed the masks and colored the lobsters with R20, 22. I cut out that panel with pink fresh diagonal stitch rectangles.

My last card uses the Adirondack chairs and umbrella from the Cape Cod set. I cut them all out and added them to a patch of "sand" that I stamped. Then I glued that to a watercolor panel that I had ink "smooshed" altenew Lake ink on.  I added that to a panel of lemon drop cardstock and blush cardstock then finished off with a piece of twine. I also used altenew ink and water brush to color in the umbrella with Cotton candy and Mango Smoothie. I used Lagoon for the Chairs.

I hope I have inspired you to purchase the Cape Cod set. It really is so versatile and $10 for every set goes towards helping small businesses. So everyone wins with this purchase!

Cape Cod set for a Cause!

I am so excited to share with you a stamp set this week that has quickly become one of my favorites. First I would like to tell you a little bit about why I am excited to share this exclusive Cape Cod stamp set from Jenn Shurkus. I love the beach towns {as I grew up by one} with all of their charm and many of them are filled with small businesses run by wonderful, kind people who rely on the bustling summer months for patrons to keep their businesses thriving. Unfortunately due to Covid-19, many small businesses have been hit pretty hard and this summer will look a lot different.

I absolutely love this stamp set. Not only is it an awesome set on its own, but it coordinates with so many other sets out there that we already have. Please consider purchasing one of these sets for this awesome cause {or you could get a few to gift your crafty friends}. I know you will enjoy using it as much as I have.  {Scroll down for a bunch of cards!}

ALL of these cards that follow use Jenn Shurkus's Cape Cod set with an appearance from a couple of other sets.

Can you tell how loved this set is? I wish all of my stamps were this stained.

This first card I made using the sentiment, lobsters, and wood sign from the Cape Cod set. I used the rock wall stencil from Tim Holtz and Hello Blue Bird "Best friends" to make the cave. The whale is from "New England Girl" by Scraps of Love. You will see throughout the week that I cannot get enough of these lobsters! I created the wood background with the Tim Holtz Lumber 3D texture fades embossing folder and then used distress stain (Vintage Photo) and oxides (Vintage Photo and Weathered Wood) to make it look aged. I used Taylored expressions "Here Comes the Sun" Stencil to the ocean (Tumbled glass Oxide) with (Broken China Oxide) for the added Rays of light.

This next card I used the lobsters from the Cape Cod set. I made the wood panel the same way and used Crafter's Companion "Fishing net" Die to cut out the panel. I also added Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Glaze (Weathered Wood) to the wood panel to give it bit of a shiny wet look. My Lobsters are colored in with R24, R27, R29.

Here is a close up. You can see the Embossing glaze, I LOVE it!!

Cape Cod set by Jenn Shurkus

For my final card today, I used the Adirondack chairs, ferry, umbrella, and foot prints from the Cape Cod set. I used my original distress inks for watercoloring in my images. The Chairs were done with a watered down Vintage Photo. The umbrellas: Mustard Seed, Chipped Sapphire, The ferry: Black soot Oxide and Hickory Smoke Oxide. For the Background, I used Lawn Fawn Windy Background die, Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Oxides. I used Antique Linen oxide for the sand and added Gold A Wink Of Stella to make the sand sparkle.

I hope I have inspired you to purchase her set! You will LOVE it!!!

Flowers, Fishermen and New Releases... Oh my!!

Happy Sunday! I have some new releases from Polka Dot Orchard to share with you today. I had so much fun making these cards. I use Adobe spark post (free version) to manipulate and build scenes with digital stamps. It is very easy to use. I do use word also, but tend to use spark post more frequently.

This first card uses You're a Reel Catch and Dropping a Line. I really love both of these sets. So many sentiments and images. I have plans to use these two sets for many different masculine cards. The sentiments are great for Father's Day, birthdays, and retirement.  The best part is, you can use most of them for anyone, not just masculine themed cards. {You should check them out}

This next card uses You're a Reel Catch and Blessed Lives. I love this sentiment about patience and this is just an example of how you can use the sentiments from "You're a reel catch" for something that is not masculine. I was playing with Brusho crystals and watercolor paint for this one. I generally like to stay inside the lines, but I like how this turned out.

My last card to share uses Hello friend and Blessed Lives I love how peaceful this card looks and it was fun to paint the gardenia. This is such a beautiful sentiment.

I hope you take a look at all of the New Releases from Polka Dot Orchard. There are so many wonderful new sets!

Feelin' Floral for a Friend!

Today I am using a couple of beautiful new releases from Polka Dot Orchard. I love this image from "Beauty of His Grace" and plan to use it many times. I paired it with the sentiment from "Blessed Lives".

{Story here if you are interested} If you know me, you know I love all animals. But butterflies hold a special place in my heart. When my children were young, I found caterpillars eating my parsley and before I decided to get rid of them, I looked up what kind of caterpillar it was. I found out it was a black swallowtail and from that day on, I plant parsley every year just to feed the caterpillars. I brought a few of them in and let my children watch them go through metamorphosis. The day we let them go, they had a chance to have a butterfly on their finger. This past summer (2019) we had over 20 caterpillars grow and change in our home. I was sad when 4 did not emerge. To play it safe, I kept them in my garage where they would not be too hot or too cold and this spring they all hatched! Amidst all that has happened so far in 2020, it was such a wonderful feeling to know that the butterflies were just over wintering and did not die. Picture of one of our butterflies at the end. {Thank you for reading :) }

So here is my creation, I hope you like it!

The color copies that I used were:

Flower: RV19, 32, YG01, Y00
Leaves: G24,28
Branch: E71, 74, 77
Butterfly:V0000, 20,22,25, Y00
Sky: BG0000, 000

Time Flies when You are having fun {Birthday}

Hello! I want to first say thank you to everyone that has commented on my blog during the Spring Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop. I was having problems responding to and leaving comments onmy and all other Blogger websites. It was something in my settings that was preventing it. Very odd as it was only Blog Spot Blogs that I couldn't leave messages on. I really do appreciate the comments.

This card was inspired by a walk I went on with my son yesterday. I used two sets that I really like from  Polka Dot Orchard to make this. The frog, lily pad, and fly are in the Leap over to my pad set and the seaweed and rocks are from the Wander often set. I watercolored this scene and cut it out with Wonky rectangles from My Favorite Things. I hope you like it!
