Sometimes the hardest cards to make are sympathy cards. If you are a pet lover like me, you know that pet sympathy cards are just as sad to give someone. To make these two cards, I used the Brutus Monroe "Four Legged Friends" inspiration box along with a couple of other products to make these heartfelt cards.
Next, I ink smooshed each of the two rainbow pieces in the appropriate colors. For the red, I used Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide.
For the rest of the colors, I used: Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers, and Wilted Violet. Once the layers were all dry, I glued each piece to the full rainbows.
Then, I blended Pumice Stone distress oxide through the Brutus Monroe Mixed Media Stencil- Rainbow that I had in my stash on a panel of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" white cardstock.
I thought I had a photo of the ink smooshed panels that I did next, but I unfortunately did not take one. I ink smooshed Salvaged Patina and a little bit of Twisted Citron on a piece of watercolor cardstock and dried it with a heat gun. Then I colored the cat and dog image that I had stamped and cut out previously using the Four Legged Friends Stamps set and dies from the box.
To finish the card, I assembled all of the pieces. I used foam tape on the ink smooshed panel and behind the clouds for dimension. I love how these turned out and think they would be very hart warming to send to someone who just lost a pet.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Be sure to check back next Friday for another Four Legged Friends Inspiration box post!
