Hello Fall {Brutus Monroe}

Welcome back to my Friday Inspiration Box tutorial! I just love the colors of the fall! This shaker card features the Autumn Harvest Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe. I just cannot get enough of these scarecrows! They are just too too cute!

To start, I colored up a couple of the scarecrows that I had stamped and die cut. {copics are listed below} Then, using an oval die from my stash, I cut the center out of the leaf patterned paper included in the box. I cut a piece of the brown cardstock to 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and a small piece of acetate to cover the oval for the shaker. I also pulled a couple of the leaves I had colored for an earlier card from my stash, I love when I can do that!

Next, I colored up some pumpkins that I had stamped and die cut. To make the shaker part of the card. I placed my patterned with the oval die cut on a piece of white paper, (which I thought was centered, but you will see was clearly not), to stamp the sentiment where I wanted it to be seen through the shaker window. Then I glued it down to the brown cardstock panel.

Next, I added the acetate to the back of the patterned paper and foam tape. I put a little mix of sequins in the center of the panel that I mixed up from my stash. I really like to glue a few down so they do not all fall to the bottom when I stand the card up.

I attached the foam panel to the card base and finished up the card by attaching the colored in images. I hope you do check out the Autumn Harvest Inspiration Box before they are all gone. This is such a super cute set!

Happy Pumpkin Season! {Brutus Monroe}

 I just cannot get enough of this month's "Autumn Harvest" Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe! These two cards were made using three of the pre printed panels from the inspiration box. Sometimes I really just do not feel like coloring. These two cards that are super easy to put together because there is no stamping and I did "lazy coloring". Let me show you how....

For the first card, I used the pumpkin panel in the kit. I started out by blending Distress Oxide over the pumpkins.

Next, I used the "Tangled Waves" stencil that I purchased separately and went back over the pumpkins with Carved Pumpkin Oxide. 

You do not need to be perfect. You will see I have a little "blending outside the lines".

Next I blended Twisted Citron Distress Oxide around the pumpkins.

I sprayed it with water and dabbed it off for some water drops on the background. Then I die cut the panel using a rectangular die. I didn't trim it down with my cutter because I am going to use the outside of the rectangle. I flipped them over and taped them back together using purple tape. 

Then, I put the "Tangled Waves" stencil back over the panel and added some texture paste in random areas of the green background. For this, It is important to use the smaller palette knife so you can have more control over the placement of the texture paste. The reason that I didn't do this step first and then die cut it is because I didn't want the texture paste to get squished or stuck in my die from going through the die cutter.

To finish the card, I glued the frame of the panel to a black card base and added foam tape to the center then adhered it. I trimmed three of the sentiments I thought went nice together from the conversation clippings and added foam tape to them before adhering them to the card.

My second card was just as easy! To start, I foiled the vine panel with "Green Deco Foil".

Next, I ink blended Scattered Straw and Carved Pumpkin oxides over the petals. It helps to use a small blending brush for this. I used these blending brushes you see in the picture.

Then I blended Gathered Twigs Oxide in the center of the flowers. To finish them, I did color the leaves with my Copics. but that was all the actual coloring I did on this card. 

Next, I fussy cut the flowers out and glued them to the foiled leaf panel. I added foam tape to the full flower and popped it up on the card front. I added foam tape to the sentiment that I cut from the conversation clippings and adhered it to the panel. To finish this card, I adhered the panel to a black card base. How Easy Peasy!!!!

Harvest Blessings {Brutus Monroe}

Welcome! I am so excited that it is Friday! I just love sharing with you the projects that I make using the Brutus Monroe Inspiration Box so make sure you check back every Friday for something new! This is my second project using the Autumn Harvest Inspiration box for October. This is such a quick card to make. The only thing that took a little bit of time was coloring in the images. 

As I have mentioned, I always stamp out a bunch of images with my Misti when I first receive my kit. Then die cut them so I have them ready to go when I sit down to create. The awesome thing about this and the last inspiration box is, Brutus Monroe added 6x6 patterned paper in the box! So to begin this card, I cut down a pice of patterned paper to 5 1/2" x 4" and a brown card panel cut to 5 1/2" x 4 1/4". I adhered the brown panel to a white card base that was included in the kit. Then I added foam tape to the back of the patterned paper and added it to the brown panel. 

Next, I colored in the images with my Copics. I used a multiliner to add a little design to the scarecrow's vest. Adding dots, stripes, or plaid to parts of the clothing is a fun way to put your own little touch on the image.

Once I had all of the images colored in, I adhered them to the card base. I used foam tape behind the pumpkins and the pumpkin sign. To finish the card, I added a sentiment from the conversation clippings, also in the kit.

Leaves are falling! {Brutus Monroe}

Wow! I cannot believe it is October 1st! I am still not ready to give up the flip flops. However, I did get myself into a fall mood when I sat down to create this adorable card featuring the new "Autumn Harvest" inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe!

I started out as I do each inspiration box I get, using my Misti to stamp a bunch of images out and then die cut them with the matching dies in the box. 

I arranged the images on the toner panel that I planned to use so I knew which images I would need to color. I colored them with my Copic markers and set them to the side.

Then next step is to foil the preprinted panel with Gina K Mango Foil. Then, I blended Antique Linen Distress Oxide over the basket weave stencil.

I adhered the panel to a brown card base using the cardstock included in the kit with foam tape. Then, I added a vellum oval that I had in my stash. I arranged the images that I colored on the card and glued them down. To finish the card, I added a sentiment from the conversation clippings in the kit and a few gems from my stash.

Falling for You Using Emboss Resist Technique {Maker Forte}

 Hello! I am going to share how I used an old technique called Emboss Resist to make the background of this card!

I love the emboss resist technique because you can make such fun backgrounds with it. For this card, I stamped the newly released Eileen Hull Vintage Damask background stamp on white cardstock using Clear Color Hive embossing ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder. This is a time when using the Perfect First Impression tool is really important. Background stamps can be tricky to get complete coverage and it is hard to see with clear embossing ink. This came out perfect the first time I inked it and stamped it using that tool. 

This embossed background looks so pretty just by itself!

Next. I ink blended Yellowstone Color Hive ink over the image.

Then, I blended English Mustard Color Hive ink around the outside border of the card.

Once I was happy with the ink blending, I took a cloth and whipped the ink off of the embossed image. 

This is definitely one of my favorite background stamps right now! It is so pretty! Next, I glued a piece of Yellowstone cardstock to a card base made with Telephone Box cardstock. Then, I added this background panel to the card base using foam tape and set this to the side. 

I made the leaves by ink smooshing English mustard, Telephone Box, and Grand CanyonColor Hive Inks on watercolor paper.

I heat set it between each color to make sure the inks didn’t mush together and turn muddy. Then, I stamped the leaf from Falling For You stamp set using clear Embossing Color Hive ink over the ink smooshed cardstock a few times. I embossed it with gold embossing powder and fussy cut the leaves.

Then, I adhered two of the leaves directly to the embossed background and added foam tape to the middle leaf. To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock and added color by ink blending over it with the ink that was left in my blender brushes so it wouldn’t be too dark.

Hello Fall with a Stenciled Background {The Hedgehog Hollow}

 Hello crafty friends! I would like to share with you how I made this card using The Hedgehog Hollow subscription box for this month. One of my favorite things in this box is the layering stencils. I love how easy they are to use. 

To make this card, I started out by blending Yellowstone Color Hive ink and Antique Linen distress oxide ink through the first layer. Then, Frayed Burlap distress oxide and Outrageous Color Hive ink through the second layer. Finally, I used Palm Tree Color Hive ink with the last stencil. 

To finish the panel, I blended Antique Linen distress oxide ink around the perimeter of the card panel and added splatters.

To make the splatters on the card panel, I inked up and acrylic block and spritzed it with a little water. Then, I mixed the ink and water together with a small paint brush. Using the paint brush against my acrylic block, I flicked the paint onto the panel. I repeated this process using Antique Linen distress oxide. 

Next, I stamped the coffee image from the kit on Ultra White cardstock two times using Eclipse Black Ink and fussy cut them out. I colored them with Copic Markers and adhered them to the card. The second cup of coffee was popped up with foam tape for little dimension. I used a sentiment from the Jess Francisco All Seasons paper pack. Then, added Solar Flair Crown Jewel Gems with my Rainbow Gem Pick. 

To finish the card, I added foam tape and adhered it to a brown card base I had in my stash.
