Music is life {splitting sentiments}

 Hello everyone! I would like to share a card I made using the May Hedgehog Hollow Box. I wanted to show you how I split this sentiment so I could place it on two separate parts of the card front. I also wanted to remind you that you can use Blank Canvas toner sheets to foil your background paper like I did on this card.

To start this card, I cut a piece of Blank Canvas toner sheet to 4" x 5 1/4" and placed a piece of Red Static deco foil shiny side up over the toner sheet and ran it through my Minc machine. Then, I glued that to an A2 side fold card base. Next I started stamping the ultra white card panel with my music heart beat stamp from the "Music Speaks" set in the box. I used a red ink from my stash to stamp one time in the center of the cardstock. Then, I cleaned it off and stamped it two times in grey, above and below the red image.

To split the sentiment, it is a good idea to have some removable purple tape on hand. I lined up the sentiment over the top grey heartbeat and closed the lid for my Misti to pick it up. Then, I put purple tape over bottom half of the sentiment to mask it and inked it with Eclipse Black ink.

It is REALLY important to remember to remove that purple tape before stamping the sentiment. I have ruined a few cards in the past because I forgot. I removed the tape and stamped it over the top grey image. Then, I cleaned my stamp real well, lined it up on the bottom grey image and closed the lid to attach the stamp to my Misti.

This is how it looks lined up over the grey image on the bottom.

To finish the card, I cut down the panel to 3 3/8" x 4 5/8" and layered it on a piece of 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" Black Eclipse cardstock. Finally, I added foam tape to the back and adhered it to the Red foiled panel. This is a fairly easy card to make and it is a nice way to add foil to a card. I also really like that I do not have to cut the stamp to get this look.

I really hope you like the card and would love to see you try out splitting sentiments and using foil as your background!
