Happy Pumpkin Season! {Brutus Monroe}

 I just cannot get enough of this month's "Autumn Harvest" Inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe! These two cards were made using three of the pre printed panels from the inspiration box. Sometimes I really just do not feel like coloring. These two cards that are super easy to put together because there is no stamping and I did "lazy coloring". Let me show you how....

For the first card, I used the pumpkin panel in the kit. I started out by blending Distress Oxide over the pumpkins.

Next, I used the "Tangled Waves" stencil that I purchased separately and went back over the pumpkins with Carved Pumpkin Oxide.

You do not need to be perfect. You will see I have a little "blending outside the lines".

Next I blended Twisted Citron Distress Oxide around the pumpkins.

I sprayed it with water and dabbed it off for some water drops on the background. Then I die cut the panel using a rectangular die. I didn't trim it down with my cutter because I am going to use the outside of the rectangle. I flipped them over and taped them back together using purple tape.

Then, I put the "Tangled Waves" stencil back over the panel and added some texture paste in random areas of the green background. For this, It is important to use the smaller palette knife so you can have more control over the placement of the texture paste. The reason that I didn't do this step first and then die cut it is because I didn't want the texture paste to get squished or stuck in my die from going through the die cutter.

To finish the card, I glued the frame of the panel to a black card base and added foam tape to the center then adhered it. I trimmed three of the sentiments I thought went nice together from the conversation clippings and added foam tape to them before adhering them to the card.

My second card was just as easy! To start, I foiled the vine panel with "Green Deco Foil".

Next, I ink blended Scattered Straw and Carved Pumpkin oxides over the petals. It helps to use a small blending brush for this. I used these blending brushes you see in the picture.

Then I blended Gathered Twigs Oxide in the center of the flowers. To finish them, I did color the leaves with my Copics. but that was all the actual coloring I did on this card.

Next, I fussy cut the flowers out and glued them to the foiled leaf panel. I added foam tape to the full flower and popped it up on the card front. I added foam tape to the sentiment that I cut from the conversation clippings and adhered it to the panel. To finish this card, I adhered the panel to a black card base. How Easy Peasy!!!!

The Autumn Harvest kit really has so many creative opportunities!!! Thank you so much for stopping by!

Leaves are falling! {Brutus Monroe}

Wow! I cannot believe it is October 1st! I am still not ready to give up the flip flops. However, I did get myself into a fall mood when I sat down to create this adorable card featuring the new "Autumn Harvest" inspiration Box from Brutus Monroe!

** Affiliate links are used throughout this post at no additional cost to you. This allows me to keep bringing you content. Thank you all for your support! **

I started out as I do each inspiration box I get, using my Misti to stamp a bunch of images out and then die cut them with the matching dies in the box.

I arranged the images on the toner panel that I planned to use so I knew which images I would need to color. I colored them with my Copic markers and set them to the side.

Then next step is to foil the preprinted panel with Gina K Mango Foil. Then, I blended Antique Linen Distress Oxide over the basket weave stencil.

I adhered the panel to a brown card base using the cardstock included in the kit with foam tape. Then, I added a vellum oval that I had in my stash. I arranged the images that I colored on the card and glued them down. To finish the card, I added a sentiment from the conversation clippings in the kit and a few gems from my stash.

Copics used:
Scarf: E43, E41, E40 Hair: Y21, Y26, Y02 Skin: E000, E00, E11, R20
Sunflower: Y38, E31, E37 Leaf: YG01, YG23 Board: E31, E25, E37

Leaf Combos:
Leaf1: Y21, YR15, YR09
Leaf2: R35.R39, YR15, Y21
Leaf3: Y21, Y26, E37

Birthday Unicorn {Brutus Monroe}

 Hello! I have a super easy full front shaker card for you today using Brutus Monroe's Unique Unicorn Inspiration box

To make this card, I stamped images from the Unique Unicorn stamp set around a white piece of cardstock. Then I stamped the rainbow image and die cut it with the matching dies in the kit.

I colored the rainbow and glued it to the white card panel. Then, I slid the white stamped panel into a self seal clear bag that measures 5 7/16" x 7 1/4" and added the sequins from the kit. (this kind of card is a great way to use up sequins if you have a lot in your stash)

I sealed the bag on the back and added two sided tape over the back to adhere the shaker to a piece of printed paper that was included in the box. I cut the printed paper to 5 5/8" x 4 3/8" so I could have a border around the shaker card. Next time I am going to use a smaller seal bag when I want to make a regular A2 card AND have a border around it. These seal bags are perfect if you aren't going to have a border.

To finish the card, I added a sentiment from the conversation clippings that are included in the box and attached it to a card base. Super easy!

Channeling My Inner Lisa Frank! {Brutus Monroe}

Happy Friday! I am so excited to share this card I made using the new Brutus Monroe Subscription Box "Unique Unicorn"!  Everything about this card brings me back to my school days when Lisa Frank stickers were the "in" thing!

** Affiliate links are used throughout this post at no additional cost to you. This allows me to keep bringing you content. Thank you all for your support! **

I began by ink blending the following Distress Oxide inks: Picked Raspberry, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, and Seedless Preserves

Next, I blended the same inks over themselves through the Brutus Monroe Mixed Media: rainbow stencil that I had in my stash.

Then, I watered down a little gold acrylic paint and flicked it on the ink blended panel.

Next, I stamped out and die cut a bunch of images from the beautiful stamp set and matching dies from the inspiration box. I chose to use a unicorn, butterfly and the rainbow images. I colored them using Copic markers.

The Copic Markers that I used are:
Unicorn: T0, T3, T7, R20, R30, W00, E40, Y00, Y11, Y15, YR23
Unicorn Mane, Tail, and Rainbow: RV21, RV25, YR65, YR68, Y32, Y35, YG03, YG05, BG01, BG45, V01, V05

Then, I began assembling my card. I adhered the rainbow panel with foam tape to a card base using teal cardstock for the Inspiration Box. I added a frame from my stash, followed by the rainbow and butterfly. I added foam tape to the unicorn and adhered it to the card. I added a conversation clipping from the inspiration box and finished it off with some sequins.

I love how colorful this card is. Do you ever make cards that remind you of your childhood?

Bugs and more Bugs! {Brutus Monroe}

 The August Subscription box for @Brutus Monroe is called Butterfly Wishes. I love that the box has beetles and other bugs in the stamp set and coordinating dies. I do not have the opportunity to make many boy/masculine cards, but when I saw this set, I immediately thought of making this card.

This was a pretty easy card to make. I stamped all of the bugs on white cardstock using my Misti. Then I cleaned them and arranged them sideways to fill the missing spots on the cardstock. I colored them in with Copics and stamped the center bug on a piece of cardstock and die cut him. I colored him in and popped him up on foam tape. Then, I stamped the sentiment on a strip of white cardstock then layered it on a strip of black cardstock. I adhered the sentiment to the panel then adhered the bug with the foam tape to the center of the card. I layered the panel on the gold glitter cardstock that came in the kit and then on a black card base.  Easy peasy!

Happy Friday! I have a cute and easy card to share with you today. This month's Brutus Monroe subscription Box "Picnic Pals" has the cutest images. This card was super easy to make using the supplies in the box along with a few items I had in my stash.

** Affiliate links are used throughout this post at no additional cost to you. This allows me to keep bringing you content. Thank you all for your support! **

To start this card, I stamped, colored and die cut the bunny and birds.  Then, I die cut a piece of white cardstock to 5 1/4" x 4". Next, I stamped the basket on the white cardstock panel I cut. I colored it in with Copics and added the ground and sky using Copics also.

I placed the white panel into my Misti and stamped the sentiment on the lower third of the panel using Raven Ink. Next, using the 2 of the square foundation dies, I made a frame by cutting a piece of plaid paper I had in my stash. I added foam to pop it up and placed it over the basket image. I added the Bunny and birds. Then, I finished it off by gluing the finished white panel to a card base using the brown cardstock from the Picnic Pal Subscription box

Always Make Waves- Brutus Monroe

 Hello and happy Friday! I am so excited to share a card I made using this month's Brutus Monroe Subscription Box, Mermaid Kisses! If you know anything about me, you know I LOVE anything that is nautical or beach related. Mermaids fall into that category in a major way!

**Affiliate links are used throughout this post at no additional cost to you. This allows me to keep bringing you content. Thank you all for your support! **

I did purchase Brutus Monroe Sand Paste and the Brutus Monroe Tangled Waves Stencil separately because I knew I would use it and I am so glad I did! I have a quick video of my process making this card.

[What is included in the box?]
June 2021 Mermaid Kisses Subscription Box.

To start, I blended Peacock Feathers, Milled Lavender, and Wilted Violet distress oxides through the Tangled Waves stencil. Then, I die cut a circle out of the center. Next, I took a scrap piece of acetate and cut the bottom to resemble sand so I could apply the sand paste to the blended background and have shape to it. I put this panel to the side to dry.

While the sand paste dried, I stamped many images from the Mermaid Kisses stamp set on white cardstock with Raven ink. I like to stamp a bunch and color them so I can play with them to see which images I want to use when I build my scene. Once I colored them, I die cut the images using the coordinating Mermaid Kisses die set that is included in the subscription box

Next, I cut a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Heather cardstock included in the box and attached it to one of the white card bases also included in the box. Then, I placed the stenciled panel on the Heather cardstock so I could line up and glue the center circle I had cut out earlier in the correct place. I added foam tape to the outer stenciled panel, but did not attach it yet. I started placing all of my images in place and glued them down to where I wanted them. I added three of the clear baubles included in the box and then attached this panel to the card base. To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment on white cardstock and layered it on a strip of Heather cardstock. I added foam tape and attached into the card.

Take Time to Unwind!

 Hello friends!! I am so excited to be writing my first blog post for Brutus Monroe!!! I have two cards to share using the products from the Splash Splash Subscription Box along with a couple of other products you can find at Brutus Monroe.

**Affiliate links are used throughout this post at no additional cost to you. This allows me to keep bringing you content. Thank you all for your support! **

I am so in love with this adorable duck!! This box has so much wonderful goodness in it and these cards only feature a few of the products!

To make this shaker card, I started with the yellow cardstock provided in the Splash Splash box and die cut it using the Diagonal Stitched rectangle die. I blended Kitsch Flamingo distress oxide ink through parts of the brick stencil that was included in the box. I made some areas a little darker than others. Next, to make the frame, I cut the center out with a smaller rectangle die. To make sure I had the inside rectangle centered, I lined the yellow frame up on the card base and glued down the center rectangle while everything was lined up. Then I removed the yellow frame, glued a piece of acetate to the back of it and set it aside to dry.

To make the scene, I stamped the duck, bathtub, and bubbles from the Splash Splash stamp set using Raven ink. I colored in the images with Copic Markers (colors listed below) and fussy cut them out. There are coordinating Splash Splash dies, but this time I decided I didn't want the white border. Next, I smooshed the bubbles in embossing ink and embossed it with the embossing powder that was included in the Splash Splash Box. I love how the bubbles look with the blue sparkle!

I arranged the images on the center rectangle and glued them down. Then I lined up my "splash splash" sentiment and stamped it on the panel, using my Misti and Raven ink. I glued some of the Splash Splash sequins, that was included in the box, to the panel. Once everything was dry, I added foam tape around the border of the panel to make the shaker.

I added beads from the Adventures at Sea embellishment set and adhered the frame with the acetate to the top of the foam. To finish this card, I added one of the sentiments from the sentiment strips in the Splash Splash box

My next card is so sweet for a baby card. It is also a pretty quick card to make.

To begin, I die cut a piece of yellow cardstock that was provided in the Splash Splash Box and adhered it to a white card base. Then, I stamped the duck and a bow with Raven ink on white cardstock and colored them with Copic markers (colors listed below). I cut them out and put them to the side.

To make the fun pink and yellow back ground, I sprayed some Kitsch Flamingo oxide spray on a piece of Watercolor paper. When I dry my ink sprays, I dry the cardstock from the front and the back.

It is very important to dry it with a heat gun before adding the next color so they do not mix. In this case, if they mixed, it would make an orange color but if you used two complimentary such as red and green, they would turn brown if you did not dry each color before applying the next. Once I dried the Kitsch Flamingo oxide spray, I sprayed Wild Honey distress stain and dried it with a heat gun.

To finish the background, I blended the Kitsch Flamingo Oxide ink through the brick stencil that is included in the subscription box. Next, I cut this panel down to 3 3/4" x 5", added foam tape and adhered it to the card base that I had prepared earlier. I cut the "welcome baby" sentiment from the sentiment strips included in the box and added foam tape to the back. Then, I glued the bow to the duck and added foam tape to the back of the duck image. I added the sentiment and duck to the card and glued a few of the Splash Splash sequins to the card for some bling.

Copic colors:
Duck: Y00, Y11, Y21 Cheek: R20
Duck Bill: YR00, YR15, YR18
Tub: W00, W0
Water: B0000, B000
Bow: RV11, RV13, RV17

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope I inspired you to create something fun today!
